Sneak peek: the definitive AI x Bio database
Soliciting feedback from people who like me enough to subscribe to my blog before I release publicly tomorrow :)
2025 is a new year and I decided it was time to brush off some old skills and learn some new ones. I wanted to play around a bit with practical AI-assisted information retrieval and dust off some very rusty coding skills and so I decided to apply it to something I hope will be useful (at least to those of you who care about what’s happening at the intersection of AI + Bio).
A real blog post with my thoughts about the space (what’s signal and what’s just noise… a lot of it is noise!) is coming shortly, but I wanted to give you all a sneak peak of a free tool I hope will be useful to many of you too!

What’s inside?
Over 200 companies/organizations (main database)
Over 300 products made by those companies/organizations (product database)
Over 250 press-released partnerships (definitely not exhaustive…but it’s a start! link to the partnerships database)
…all linked together in a free Notion database that you can play around with! A couple tips: Notion isn’t great about letting “view only” users (that’s you) expand cells and stuff, which is silly. But anywhere you see an “Open” button or something that looks like a link/button, you should be able to click on it and get more information from the linked databases. Enjoy! And feel free to share with friends tomorrow when I post publicly on LinkedIn.
Diclaimers: a bunch of this info is AI-generated (that was the point! otherwise this would have been a LOT more work…) and while I looked over most of it and had to fill in a bunch of stuff that wasn’t easily parsable, I make no guarantees that any individual datapoint is accurate (don’t sue me / do your own research!), but I think it’s directionally useful
Great resource! And a fun idea to workshop such interesting projects and ideas with the substack community.
